She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Morton and Bethel Morton; and her son James Curtis McDowell. She is survived by: her husband Thomas R. Smith; her daughters, Lynne Lindsey, Geneva Velasquez (Antonio) and Melanie Trahan; and her siblings, Sherry Marcum and Jack Morton. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren.
