He is survived by: his wife Sarah Gillock Murphree; his children, Carl E. Murphree III (Kelly) of Starkville, MS and Melissa Murphree Deming (Whit) of Germantown, TN; and his grandchildren, Ashley Reintiz (Brian), Daniel Murphree and Will Murphree. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
