With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorris Lafay Chapman (Columbus, Mississippi), born in McComb, Mississippi, who passed away on December 8, 2018 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Beard and Lela Haynes Beard; her husband Leston Chapman; and her sons, Allen Chapman and Jerry Chapman.

She is survived by: her children, Dorothea Fay Foster of Columbus and George Edward Chapman. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
