He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilliam Sims Harris and Marguerite Stelling Harris; and his sons, Joel Leslie Harris and Benjamin Jay Harris. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Norris Harris; his children, John Harris (Carolyn), Susan Ward and Karen Harris Tullos (late Max); and also Harris Ward. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
