He was predeceased by: his parents, Julia Brazeale Fant and Joseph Lewis Fant, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Watkins Fant; his children, Carolyn F. Ludlam (Steve) of Jackson, MS, Lynn F. Durant (George) of Mandeville, LA and Joseph L. Fant, IV of Cashiers, NC.; his grandchildren, Steven Ludlam (Sara) of Nashville, TN, Julia Ludlam of Birmingham, AL, Ross Durant of Dallas, TX, Katherine Durant of New Orleans, LA, Hutton F. Harsh (Carter) of Birmingham, AL, Emily Fant of Atlanta, GA and Adair Fant of Ponte Vedra, FL; and his great grandchild Hanley Ludlam of Nashville.
