She was predeceased by: her parents, Merle Bowers and Goldie Bowers; her siblings, Laura Mae Lambert, Eleanor Brooks and Richard Bowers; her son-in-law Johnny Nutt; and her great grandchild Benjamin Stanton.
She is survived by: her husband Col. Richard C. Burkett; her daughters, Deborah Henderson-Asher (Mike), Cindy Nutt, Lori Lee (Doug) and Suzy Stanton; and her grandchildren, Melanie Caulder (Nate), Colby Nutt, Zach Stanton (Jardin), Matt Stanton (Harley) and Katy Blackston (Jason). She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
