He was predeceased by: his father Ronald Hankey; and his brother Robin Hankey. He is survived by: his wife Dianna Christian; his mother Rita Hankey (Pardy); his wife Dianna Hankey (Christian); his daughters, Carli Hankey and Catherine Bigham (Victor); his siblings, Rick Hankey (Babette), Ronald Halseth (Maxine) and Connie Robbins (Bob); and his grandchildren, Fiona Mateer, Dakota, Drake and Dixie Bigham.
