Martha Leigh Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 26, 2018, at the age of 97, Martha Leigh (Columbus, Mississippi), born in Memphis, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her daughters, Marth Polk Leigh, Jr., Mary Leigh Blalock and Frank Melancthon Leigh. She is survived by: her daughters, Frances Leigh McCarty (Rucker) and Beverly Leigh Truslow (Don); her grandchildren, Beverly Blalock McCloskey (Jim), John Butler Blalock, IV (Ellen), Frank Melancthon Leigh Blalock, Leigh McCarty Woods (Ben), Ansley McCarty Craine (Will), Ann Truslow Siak (Mark), Stuart Auchincloss Truslow, II and Martha Truslow Smith (Noah); her great grandchildren, Anna Grace McCloskey, Mary Beverly McCloskey, Margaret James McCloskey, Elizabeth James McCloskey, Vivian Ashe Blalock, John Butler Blalock, Benjamin Rucker Woods, Robert McCarty Woods, Frances Mary Craine, Robert Hosea Craine, Frances Morrison Siak and Henry Kent Siak; and her husband Frank.
In lieu of flowers, the memory of Martha may be honored through gifts to St. Paul's Episcopal Church or Mississippi University for Women, both located in Columbus, Mississippi. "No eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him" (I Corinthians 2:9). "Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also" (John 14: 1-3).
