She was predeceased by: her parents, Nellie Wesley Newsome and Thomas E. Newsome; her husband Howell Austin; and her sisters, Linda Maddox and Jean Hayes.
She is survived by: her children, Sami Austin of Columbus, MS, Jane Harmon (Dennis) of Columbus, MS and Tony Austin (Judy) of Newton, MS; her grandchild Riley Austin (Ashley); and her siblings, Ralph Newsome, Donald Newsome and Ellen Jordan. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
