It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peggy Whitten Barksdale of Columbus, Mississippi, born in Ethelsville, Alabama, who passed away on November 8, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Catherine Kemp Whitten and Troy Whitten; and her husband Billy Wayne Barksdale. She is survived by: her children, Theresa Moore (Rodney) of Columbus, MS, Karen Dozier (Rhett) of Columbus, MS and Tim Barksdale (Dixie) of Soso, MS; her grandchildren, Amanda Barton (Richard), Stephanie McAlister (Roy), Brandon Dozier (Carrie), Jay Moore, Macy Cox (Josh), Brayden Barksdale and Landry Barksdale; her great grandchildren, Haley Reed (Robert), Dylan Barton, Brody Barton, Alyssa McAlister, Carter Moore, Quinn McAlister, Madison Dozier and Mackenzie Dozier; and her siblings, Troy Whitten (Sue), Terry Whitten (Sharon) and Patsy Allen.
