He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings, Jimmy Garton and Doris Ella Smith Fulton of Columbus; his wife Jane Garton Smith of Columbus; his children, Ronnie Smith (Sheila) of Columbus, Kent Smith of Hermosa Beach, CA, Wayne Price (Paige) of Shelby, AL, Becky Smith of Biloxi, MS and Susan Mackay of Columbus; his grandchildren, Jessica Smith Edwards (Chris), Jordan Smith (Jenness), Amanda Mackay of Columbus, Eric Price (Ashley) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Alana Whitehead (Mike) of Evans, GA, Peyton Cook of Pensacola, FL and Theresa Luke (Josh) of Sullivan's Island, SC; his great grandchildren, Allie, Sarah Vance, Olivia Edwards, Andrew Connors, Ashley Ryan, Sadie, Eli Price, Dresden, Ryland, Millie Whitehead, Ella Foshee, Will, Cooper and Maria Luke; and his nephews, Charlie Perkins (Karen) and James Perkins (Teresa).

Ron retired from Century 21, Doris Hardy and Associates when Alzheimer's affected his memory.
