She was predeceased by: her husband James Whitten; her son James Edward Whitten; her grandson J. J. Whitten; her daughter-in-law Winna Whitten; and her parents, Clifton Henderson and Willie Holmes Henderson.
She is survived by: her son Earnest Whitten; her daughter-in-law Angie Whitten; her sister Mary Gladys McDonald; her grandchildren, Patton Whitten (Christi), Salethia Holifield (Chris) and Drew Whitten (Ashley); her great grandchildren, Austin Whitten (Courtney), Callop Whitten (Miranda), Dalton Whitten, Dakota Hill, Preston Whitten, Brooklyn Holifield, Jackson Holifield and Caris Whitten; and her great great grandchildren, Tynley Whitten and Zoey Whitten. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Ethelsville Baptist Church, 230 Main Street, Ethelsville, AL 35461.
