He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodie E. Sr. and Dora E. Gholson; his son Julian Christian Gholson; and his siblings, Freddie Gholson, Willie Will Gholson, Albert Gholson and Dora Mae Gholson.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita G. Gholson; his children, Elaine Gholson-Stewart (Adrian) of Columbus, MS and Michael Dewayne Gholson (Tracy) of Caledonia, MS; his brothers, Anderson Gholson of Labanon, PA, James Gholson (Earnestine) of Columbus, MS and Johnny Gholson (Elisa) of Columbus, MS; his grandchildren, Michael DeAngelo Jones, Shareka Sneed, Antoine Merill Vender and Markell Deshaun Witherspoon; and his great grandchildren, Trevion Bohannon, Mariyah, Aniyah, Elijah, Eric, Elan, Marquell Jr. and Kory. He is also survived by several brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
