It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merle Beavers Herring of Courtland, Mississippi, born in Sardis, Mississippi, who passed away on August 16, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Beavers and Rena Mae Beavers; her husband Leon Herring; her granddaughter Krystal Yvonne Staten; and her siblings, Edward, Cecil, Wayne, Macil, Bobby Joe, Charles, Wade Beavers and Lorene Davis.
She is survived by: her children, Marilyn Elliott of Greenwood, MS, Anne Beard (Albert) of Courtland, MS, Sandra Staten (Randy) of Charleston, MS and Mike Dorris of Oakland, MS; her grandsons, Keith May, Bradley Ross and Ryan Staten; her grandsons-in-law, Chris Adams and Jeff Goodwin; and her son-in-law Albert Beard. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.
