He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Gilbert and Gail Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Bobbi Jo Gilbert; his son Thomas Gilbert, III; his sister Laurie Gilbert (Sinan); and his sibling's children, Troy Gilbert Basoren, Amanda Tingle, Meagan Burnett and Jonathan Burnett. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Veteran's Program at Hancock Resource Center, 454 Hwy 90 Suite B, Waveland, MS 39576.
