He was predeceased by: his father Nolan Abercrombie; and his wife Nelda Elizabeth Abercrombie. He is also survived by 9 children, 23 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, three sons, a daughter, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers, and many other relatives and friends.
