She was predeceased by : her parents, Pete Sterling and Margie Foreman Sterling; and her siblings, Joe Lane Sterling, Kim Sterling and Alice "Dit" Bryant.

She is survived by : her husband Lawrence Hinton; her children, Tony Hinton (Amy), Deidre Harvey, Mary Ritchie (Chan) and Becky Etheridge (Rodney); and her sisters, Joyce Perry and Peggy McCrieght. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.
