He was predeceased by : his parents, John William Thomas and Willie Mae Perry Thomas; and his siblings, John W. Thomas Jr., Alice Netterville, Willie Mae Beck and Christine McCallister.

He is survived by : his wife Vivian Causey Thomas; his sons, Brad (Jennifer Thomas) and Lance (Kim Thomas); his grandchildren, Hannah (Scott Wilson), DeDee, Lizzie, Faith, Molly, Jeb, Peyton and Bella; his great grandchild Ari; and his brothers, Prentice Thomas (Ethel) of Zachary and James Thomas (Hattie) of Coles. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
