He was predeceased by: his sisters, Betty Moore of Nashville and Geraldine Mattox of Charleston. He is survived by: his wife Bobbye Brantley Switzer; and his daughter Paula Switzer of Birmingham. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Animal Sanctuary, 52 County Road 241, Grenada, MS 38901.
