He is survived by : his wife Connie Nokes Rhodes; his son Richard Knight Rhodes, Jr. (Searcy); his grandchild Lexie Scott Hollis; and his sister Ramona Rhodes Sanders (Frank).

Richard has donated his body to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) Body Donation Program for anatomical study, research and the advancement of medical sciences.
