Wilmer Gene Kirkland Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilmer Gene Kirkland of Hurley, Mississippi, born in Philadelphia, Mississippi, who passed away on July 17, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Susan Pearl Brantley (Elmer William Kirkland) and Betty Linder Kirkland; his son Vincent "Vince" Gene Kirkland; his siblings, W. A. "Dub" Kirkland (Earline), Rodney Kirkland (Mildred), Ross Kirkland (Dorothy), Robert Kirkland (Edie), Wallace Kirkland, Jim Kirkland and Reba McKinnon (Carly); and his sister-in-law Millie Kirkland.

He is survived by: his wife Glenda "Charlotte" Kirkland; his daughters, Freda Stork (Darryl), Susie Brannan (John), Alisha Kirkland (Jamie) and Penny Kirkland McKeithen (Russel); his siblings, Mary Rushing (Freaman) and Otha Kirkland; his grandchildren, Whitney Perry (Troy), Amanda Fallon (Ryan), Ryan Kirkland (Ariel), Travis Kirkland (Logan), Sydney Pepper (Peyton), Josh Brannan (Courtney), Kendall Joseph (Allen "Pootie"), Kaleigh Eaker (Jake), Lindsay Oliver (Colby) and Jacob Bullard; and his uncle Gene. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home (9721 MS-63, Moss Point, MS 39562). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Orange Grove Cemetery (5192 Orange Grove Rd, Moss Point, MS 39562).
