She was predeceased by: her parents, Birtis Dees and Addie Lou McDaniel Dees; and her husband William Woodrow Spencer, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Woody Spencer (Susan) of Indianola and Michael Spencer (Amy) of Memphis, Tennessee; her siblings, Jimmy Dees (Debbie) of Winston-Salem and Sue Dees of Clarksdale; her grandchildren, Mallory Johns, Tara Smith and Madison McCracken; her stepgrandchildren, Watson Brewer and Mary Clayton Brewer; and her great grandchildren, Wade Smith, Charlotte McCracken and Max Johns.
