He was predeceased by: his parents, Carol Fagan Hopton and Richard Gilbert Hopton, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Pamela S. Hopton; his children, Richard Gilbert "Gil" Hopton III (Allison) of Port Orange, Florida, Carrie Dellapenna (Ryan) of Pearl and Chelsea Steckler (Shane) of Gluckstadt, Mississippi; his siblings, Linda Cumberland, Teresa Acker (Jim) and Paul David Hopton (Paula); his aunts, Nancy Kamenick and Marilyn Schmidt; and his grandchildren, Gracie Hopton, Marley Hopton, Tony Dellapena and Graham Steckler. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.
Due to the COVID19 virus, only a visitation at Sebrell Funeral home will be held.
