He was predeceased by: his parents, Juda Pat Sandifer Brister and Hugh Nelson Brister; his sister Patricia Brister Caul (Sissy); his brothers-in-law, Harold Caul and Mac Mitchell; and his grandson Ty Brister.
He is survived by: his wife Joy Thames Brister; his siblings, Karen Mitchell, Doug Brister (Dawn) and Sandy Brister (Kim) of Jayess, MS.; his sons, Mark Brister (Jamie) of Miami, FL and Jason Brister (Allison) of Brookhaven, MS.; and his grandchildren, Jasee Brister, Diana Brister Maddox (Reed), Allie Jo Brister (Aundre), Kyle Brister, Billie Tanksley, Zach Brister, Emmie Brister, Christiana Mitchell, Corby Husser and Serenity Mitchell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
