She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Joel Powell and Dora Elizabeth Shoemake; her husband L. Murray; and her siblings, Oscar Powell, Hazel Powell Lewis, Mable Powell Laedtke and Paul Powell.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas E. Murray (Edna) and Emma Elizabeth Murray Musgrove (Wayne); her grandchildren, Jacqueline Musgrove Logan (Rolf), Jill Musgrove (Grant Ingram), Duane Murray (Angele), Scott Murray (Celita) and Jason Murray (Stephanie); and her nephews, Harry Earl Lewis, Emit Lewis, Joey Powell, John Powell, Don Powell, Robert Boutwell, Bobby Boutwell and Lorie Boutwell. She is also survived by her seven great-grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Memory Chapel Funeral Home (3100 Audubon Dr, Laurel, MS 39440). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at the Hickory Grove Cemetery.
