It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Vernon Byrd of Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on February 16, 2022, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his siblings, Kenneth Harrison of Dumas, Glenn Laverne "HotShot" Byrd and Gladys Byrd Henke; his wife Anne Kelley Byrd; his brother Marvin L. Byrd (Carol); his daughters, Misty Byrd Foster (Mac), Laurie Tidwell Daniel and Cyndi Tidwell Waltman (Bart); and his grandsons, Dallas Rustin, Conar Foster and Cole Daniel. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
