He was predeceased by: his parents, Sharp Pickering and Nola Mae Pickering; his daughter Ramona Hodge; and his brothers, Herman Pickering, Willis Pickering and Dale Pickering.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Ishee (Donnie) and John Pickering Jr.; his wife Avis Pickering; his sister Barbara Pickering; his grandchildren, Brandi Hamilton (Jeremy), Tosha Cruse (Jonny), Tiffany Mills (Justin), Haven Valentine (Evan) and J. W. Pickering; and his great grandchildren, Marissa McGill, Hunter Cruse, Brett Cruse, Cash Hamilton, Aiden Cruse, Paislee McGill, Raylee Mills, Anabelle Mills and Jace Valentine.
