He was predeceased by: his parents, Allie Blackwell and Purvis; and his sister Vera Lee Landrum (Annie Louis Blackwell). He is survived by: his sons, John Blackwell and Brent Blackwell (Kelly); his wife Rose Hankins; his grandson Jonathan (Jessica); and his siblings, Mildred Henderson and Melvin (Pat) of Louisiana.
