It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jewell S. Leonard (Laurel, Mississippi), who passed away on November 14, 2021, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Fletcher Shoemake; and her husband John F. Leonard. She is survived by: her daughters, Paula Leonard Doukas Thornton of Gulfport, MS and Marilyn Leonard Ferrell of Metairie, LA; her grandchildren, Michael Byrd, Elizabeth Byrd Walley, Freddy Doukas, Nick Doukas and Jonathan Byrd; her sister Lorene Hurst Pierce; her nieces, Ruby Anderson, Fay Craven, Betty Cockran and Beverly Randle; her great grandchildren, Devin K. Pettey, Meredith E. Pettey, Mikah H. Byrd, Kaitlynn Byrd, Kenlee Byrd, McKenna Byrd, Madison Byrd, Cameron Byrd, Liam Byrd, Brancyn Byrd and Ainsley Byrd; and her great great grandchildren, Brentlee, Matthew and Allison.
