It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Louise Merrell Vaughn (Laurel, Mississippi), who passed away on October 11, 2019, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, R. E. "Ed" and Emma Downs; her former husband Walter Clyde Merrell, Sr.; and her son Walter C. Merrell, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Steven Frazier Vaughn; her stepsons, Jeffery Vaughn, Steve Vaughn and Jerry Vaughn; her daughters, Carolyn Jones (Ronnie) and Sheryl Carey; her stepchildren, Cindy Vaughn of Charlestown, IN and Robert Vaughn of Sellersburg, IN; and her grandchildren, Scott Merrell (Tayna) of Brookhaven, MS, Todd Merrell (Sherry) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Julie Anne Baker of Purvis, MS, Deke Merrell of Laurel, Andy Cade (Jill) of Houston, TX and Corey Jones (Kristen) of Brandon, MS. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews who loved her as a second mother.
