He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Frances Hamby; his parents, William Hamby and Mae Hamby; and his brother Dennis Hamby. He is survived by: his children, Donna Nelson (Eddie), Billy James (Tammy) and Wendell James; his grandchildren, Ashley Bryant (Keith) and Heather McLain (Shaun); and his great grandchildren, Annalea Bryant, Hayden Bryant, Kaelyn Conkle, Avarie Conkle, Finn McLain and Colt McLain.
