He was predeceased by: his children, James Harold "Chuck" Byrd, Debra and Belinda; his parents, William Myles and Flossie Marie Shedd Byrd; his grandparents, John Millard Fillmore, Almeta Blackledge Byrd, Wiley Uriah and Mary Darcus "Mollie" Rogers Shedd; his sister Minnie R. Byrd Sumrall; his nephew Billy Joe; and his great-nephew William Loyd Sumrall.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Jean Codr; his brother Edward Franklin Byrd of Laurel; and also, Lucas, Gabe Sumrall of Sweet Water, Alabama and Emily Sumrall of Spanish Fort, Alabama. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
