She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude L. Whittington and Betty Mae Whittington; and her brothers, Lester Whittington and Travis Whittington. She is survived by: her husband George Hankins; her son Michael Hankins (Carrie); her grandsons, Will Hankins and Garrett Hankins; and her sister Glenda Haynes (Al).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ (PO Box 217, Owens Cross Roads, AL 35763) or the American Cancer Society.
