He was predeceased by: his wife Winnie Carver Grimes; and his siblings, Frank, Oliver, Ernest, Paul Grimes, Dixie Shaffer and Annie Tubbs.
He is survived by: his children, Kathi Williams (Will) of Leland, Joyce Frazier (Mike) of Yazoo City, Marilyn Smyly (Bernie) of Tupelo, MS and Tracy Pinkston (Scott) of Oxford, MS; his grandchildren, Carrie Parrish, Chasity Echols, Michael Frazier, Leslie Robinson, Ethan Smyly, Seth Smyly and Kain Pinkston; and his great grandchildren, Anna Carol Echols, Gracie Woods, Russ Powell and Michael Thomas Frazier. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
