She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Nesmith Merchant and Estelle Alewine Merchant; her husband Terry Gilbert White, Sr.; and her sister Monica Merchant Taylor. She is survived by: her sons, Terry "Gil" White, Jr. (Laura) of Easley and James Merchant White (Laurie) of Santa Fe, Texas; her grandchildren, Brian White (Christen), Jenna Hunter (Jason), Scott White, David White (Lauren), Julie White (Patrick) and Ashley Jungedeitering (Andre); and her great grandchildren, Kyler, Harper, Payton, Audrey, Rylie, Lucille and Pierce.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Poplar Flat Baptist Church (2188 Poplar Flat Rd, Louisville, MS 39339). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at the Poplar Flat Cemetery (2188 Poplar Flat Rd, Louisville, MS 39339).
Flowers can be sent to Poplar Flat Baptist Church in Louisville, MS, or a memorial donation may be made to the American Red Cross, Hill Country Chapter, a fitting tribute for someone who nursed everyone around her and spent much of her adult life in Texas.
