He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Wiley Cowart and Willow Tanner Cowart; and his daughter Carolyn Cowart Elsteroth. He is survived by: his wife Janice; his children, Becky Morris (Brent) of Mason, OH, Lindsay Holder (Jonathan) of Lee's Summit, MO and David Paul Cowart, Jr. (Lisa) of Seattle, WA; his brother Joseph Cowart of Lucedale, MS; his granddaughters, Isabelle Soto, Gaby Soto and Willow Holder; and his son-in-law David B. Elsteroth of Houma, LA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to be made to St. Jude or the George County Distinguished Young Women Program.
