He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland George Beard and Rowena Brewer Beard Loper; and his brother George Beard. He is survived by: his wife Lydia Stringfellow Beard; his children, James B. Beard (Cyndi), Angie Rouse, Jamette Beard Thrash (Terry), Leigh Nicole "Niki" Davis (Wilbur) and Jeremiah Beard; and his siblings, Dianne Beard Newman and Joseph A. Beard (Vickie).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in honor of Lindsey Crawley, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
