He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Etsyl Gibson and Lydia Ann McDowell Gibson; his brother Louis Anthony Gibson; and his nephew Justin Gibson. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Lynn Meador Gibson; his daughters, Christina Denmark (Chad), Mary Ann Gibson, Katy Lambert (Chris) and Haley Gibson; and his siblings, Lloyd Gibson, Judy Simpson and Gary Anthony. He is also survived by six grandchildren and numerous other relatives and close friends.
