He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Baker Boykin and Bertha Harrell Boykin; and his brothers, David Boykin and Wayne Boykin. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Kim Boykin Whitten (Whitt Whitten), Joe Bert Boykin Jr. and Kathy Boykin Wright; his brother Bob Boykin (Shirley); his significant other Beth Kinard Clark; his significant other's daughter Lindsey Clark Watkins; and also, Lily Watkins and Kinsley Watkins. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
