She was predeceased by: her father Louis H. O'Bannon; and her stepfather Charles F. Rose. She is survived by: her mother Elaine C. Rose; and her brother Richard O'Bannon (Vicki). She is also survived by nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mississippi Special Olympics in memory of Ruth Carol O'Bannon.
