She was predeceased by : her parents, Everett Merritt and Bernice Merritt; her husband Melvin Beasley; and her sisters, Mattie Pearl Sullivan and June Carney.

She is survived by : her pets, Goliath and Puss Puss; her children, Anna Kelly (Terry), Lisa Merritt (Stephen), Dana Rogers, Kristy Carney, E. M. Beasley (Shelia), Adam Beasley (Chasity), Benny Beasley (Maleah), Josh Beasley (Melissa), Wayne Beasley (Kelly), Cory Beasley (Heather), James Berry (Monica), Troy Rogers (Kim) and Jimmy Beasley; and her siblings, Phyllis Dunaway (Oved Sr.), Melinda Garner, Larue Merritt (Jenie) and Budgie Merritt (Monica). She is also survived by 45 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
