With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Emmett Edwards Jr. of Montpelier, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 6, 2025 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Edwards and Sara Felder Edwards of Cario; his sisters, Marguerite Stafford and Mary Elizabeth Frances; and his significant other Pam Edwards.
He is survived by: his children, Bob (Lori), John (Sabrina) and Tina Edwards; his stepdaughter Athena Hewlett (Rich); his grandchildren, Daniel McCaskill, Jr. (Jennifer), Wendi McMinn, Johnny Baucom, Jr. (Cally), Baylee Baggett (Lex), James Emmett Edwards, III, Lauren Coggins-Frazier (Chris), Vetta Jean Carpenter (Gavin), Holden Coggins (Tasha), Subrina Phipps (Thomas), Halie Edwards, Preston Shotts (Celia), Dayton Shotts and Jackson Easton; and his mother-in-law Bamer Dorsey. He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
