He is survived by: his wife Ida Eyrle Pierce-Tanner; his siblings, Forrest Calvin Mahathy, James Leroy Mahathy (Big Sandra), Ima Jane Bragg (Stanley) and Gloria Faye Hamilton (Jack); his children, Melba Faye Schafer (William), Sandra Raye Parker (James), Winfred Tanner (Reby), Cynthia Cochran (David), Mae Jean Henderson, Robert Tanner (Carmen) and Marty Tanner; his grandchildren, Ginger Hamilton, Carla Weaver, James Parker, Clint Schafer, Scott Older and Taylor Older; and his great grandchildren, Perrin, Brett, Ryan, Lora, Leah, Lilly, Avery, Morgan, James, Autumn and Kala. He is also survived by great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
