She was predeceased by : her parents, Clyde French and Tiny Martin French; her husband Wilburn Chance; her son-in-law Robert W. Farrell, Jr.; and her brother J. D. French.

She is survived by : her children, Patricia Ann Farrell and Ronald Kerry Carpenter; and her grandchildren, Shannon Kirk Matthews and Teather Shadean Brooks (Allen). She is also survived by five great grandchildren.
