He was predeceased by: his significant other Judy Hurst; and his parents, D. Q. Hurst and Shirley Hurst of Navarre, FL. He is survived by: his children, Hal Hurst (Carrie) of Tupelo, MS and Brette Stanley (Joe) of Signal Mountain, TN; his grandchildren, Grace, Cella, Molly, Mary-Rives and Ripp; and his great grandchild Wyatt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
