He was predeceased by: his wife Iris Newell Posey; his children, Keith Posey and Cheryl Posey Bolline; his parents, Bruce Posey and Ernest Jayroe Posey; and his sisters, Christener Posey and Tay.

He is survived by: his grandsons, Danny and Donnie Bolline; and his sister Sue Posey Thompson. He is also survived by three nephews.
