He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Smith; his grandson Neal Cockrell; his parents, Pid Smith and Grace Smith; and his brother-in-law Sonny Quinn.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa Stewart (Jimmie) of Mize and David Earl "Scooter" Smith (Christy) of Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Ryan Cockrell (Brittany), Chloe Smith and Emmy Lou Smith; his great grandchildren, Eli Cockrell and Charlie Cockrell; and his siblings, Joeann Killebrew (Bubba) of Houston, TX, Yvette Williams (Horace) of Philadelphia, Mary Quinn of Brandon, Rachael Tucker (Gary) of Brandon, Linda Chennault (Gene) of Kosciusko, Margaret Peebles (Steve) of Philadelphia, Larry Smith (Betty) of Philadelphia and Scottie Smith (Robin) of Philadelphia. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
