She was predeceased by : her parents, James Jackson Doss and Essie Lula McDowell Doss; her husband James William Franklin Sr.; her daughter Reda Ann Bullard; her son-in-law Gayle Bullard; and her siblings, William Walker "Pete" Doss, Tula Vance, Ethelene Thomas, Geneva McCcafferty, Sara Nickels and Jimmie Pendergrass.
She is survived by : her sons, James William Franklin (Winona) of Pittsboro and Heath Doss Franklin (Deann) of Pittsboro; her grandchildren, Gayle Douglas Bullard Jr. (Lisa), Emily Jayne Bullard, Mary Elizabeth Edmondson (P. K.), Hunter William Bryant and Devin James Bryant (Melissa); and her siblings, James Raymond Doss of Grenada, Thomas Steve Doss of Java, Virginia and Barbara Ann Morris of Randolph. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
