He was predeceased by: his son Ira O'neal Stone; his parents, Ira Stone Sr. and Dezzie Jamison; and his siblings, Raymond Long and Frances Helen Hunt.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Alice Kirkwood; his daughters, Betty Stone of Tupelo, MS and Margarett-Kirkwood-Peters (Eric) of Pontotoc, MS; his daughter-in-law Maxine Stone; his grandchildren, Alexandria Stone of Pontotoc, MS, Malcolm Stone of Pontotoc, MS and James Kirkwood of Pontotoc, MS; his nieces, Denise, Dezzie and Virgaree; and his nephew Chris Hunt.
