He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey P. Sewell and Clair Archer Sewell; and his brothers, Eugene, Waymon and Herbert Sewell.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Sewell; his children, Jeffery Sewell (Judy) and Jenna Sewell Patterson (Mark); and his grandchildren, Claire Martin (Tyler), Clayton Sewell, Caitlin Patterson and Lyndsay Patterson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Pontotoc City Bible Teachers Fund at First Choice Bank, Pontotoc, MS.
